Why you Shouldn’t Use a Mod Chip When you Backup Wii Games
A lot of people believe that if they want to figure out how to backup Wii games, they need to first install a mod chip into their system. A few years ago, mod chips were the only way to unlock your gaming systems. But with recent developments such as the Homebrew Channel, you can now backup your Wii games and not even have to open up the case.
Installing the Homebrew Channel is much safer, easier, and cheaper than using a mod chip. A chip will not only void the warranty on your Wii, but they are tough to install and you run the risk of bricking the system so it doesn’t work anymore. A broken system and no warranty means you’re out spending money on a brand new Wii. Don’t forget about the price of a mod chip and how much you will have to pay someone else to install it for you if you don’t know what you’re doing.
The Homebrew Channel on the other hand is completely safe and much easier to install. You don’t have to open the Wii at all. You just download the necessary files based on your firmware version, save them to an SD card, upload the card into your Wii, and follow some simple instructions. Once the Homebrew Channel is installed, you will be able to backup your Wii games with no problems at all.
I will be making a post here within the next few days all about how to install Wii Homebrew so that you can backup Wii games and unlock a ton of other cool features so stay tuned.
